Re-launched by its owners John and Lynne Griffin earlier this year, this historic venue now offers home cooking at its absolute best, with a mouth-watering menu of traditional favourites and modern cuisine, combining effortlessly to cater for all tastes and occasions.

Starters on offer range from oriental-style Thai fish cakes to the popular potato wedges with bacon and cheese, while the comforting main courses cover everything from beef lasagne and sirloin steak, to Mexican chilli con carne and Thai green chicken curry.

The Northumbrian Piper also has a complete snack menu, including beef burgers, jacket potatoes and hot or cold sandwiches served in fresh bread. And for younger customers, the venue offers a special children's menu, with a choice of five main meals and an ice-cream dessert for just £3.95.
